On Monday, 16 September, there will be a talk by Dr Kenneth Jackson on Skipton Woods: Ancient Woodland or Post-Industrial landscape?
Dr Jackson, former senior lecturer at the University of Leeds, will explain how the woodland was shaped by water power and limestone extraction as the valley became the focus for the industrialisation of Skipton in the 18th century.
The talk will take place at Ingleborough Community Centre, LA6 3HG. It will start at 7.30 pm. Free to members of the IAG. Non-members £3. Everyone is welcome to attend.
