The analysis of ancient DNA (aDNA) is contributing to a revolution in how we view our past. It’s one of the new scientific techniques that are revealing insights into people’s stories, both as individuals and as members of whole populations.

This talk by Dr Roger Martlew will illustrate the impact of aDNA and isotope analysis from an archaeological perspective, using local examples and the latest international research.

The talk is at Ingleborough Community Centre, Ingleton, at 7.30pm on Monday 16 November. All welcome. Non-members £3 entry.

Dr Martlew, a distinguished archaeologist and author, has worked on excavations in England, Scotland, France and the Philippines. After gaining a PhD from Leicester University he began investigating the Dales landscape while teaching archaeology at Leeds University over thirty years ago. He is currently the archaeology editor of the Yorkshire Archaeological Journal.
