Dr David Johnson, archaeologist, author and honorary president of IAG, will dig into the history of the group at its next meeting on 17 February 2025.
Dr Johnson will tell the story of some of the most significant projects the group has carried out since its foundation in 1996.
Excavations of prehistoric settlements at Kingsdale Head and the Ribblehead navvy complex are two of the projects he will focus on, along with an investigation into a Romano-British site near Ingleton, the Sow Kiln project and a mysterious chapel site at Malham Tarn.
Reports, photos, blogs and archive material from IAG projects - many of which were led by Dr Johnson - are available on this website. Visit the publications section. Some of the reports will be on sale at the meeting.
The talk begins at 7.30pm at Ingleborough Community Centre, Ingleton. Non-members are welcome to attend - £3 entry.
